Irish Life has been awarded top accolades at the Irish Pension Awards 2016, held in association with European Pensions. At the award ceremony last night in Dublin, Irish Life Corporate Business won the Communication Award, and Irish Life Investment Managers won Passive Manager of the Year. Setanta Asset Management, part of the Irish Life Group, also picked up the award for Equities Manager of the Year for the fifth year in a row.
Irish Life Corporate Business came up against some of the industry’s leading pension providers in Ireland to be awarded with the Communication Award. This award recognises those firms that have used innovation and/or creativity to help improve pensions communication, be it through a particular product, service offering or overall business approach.
Irish Life Investment Managers (ILIM) overcame stiff competition to secure the Passive Manager of the Year Award. This award celebrates the manager that demonstrates strong returns, provides excellent customer service and shows a true understanding of the needs of its clients.
Setanta Asset Management once again prevailed to win Equities Manager of the Year Award for the fifth year in a row. This award celebrates the manager that has led the way in managing equities for its clients over the past 12 months, and has proved itself truly invaluable to Irish pensions funds.
Commenting on the Communication Award win, Tony Lawless, Managing Director, Irish Life Corporate Business said; “This is a great honour for our team and we are grateful to the Irish Pension Awards for this recognition. Patrick Burke, Managing Director, Irish Life Investment Managers, commented on the Passive Manager win; “This award is a great recognition for our team at Irish Life Investment Managers. The win reflects our continued success of delivering tailored solutions for retail investors and DC pension schemes, through close collaborations with other business sectors across the Irish Life Group. We are committed to providing the best service and range of investment solutions to our clients, and this is reflected in our growing international recognition” he said.
Commenting on the win, Kieran Dempsey, Managing Director, Setanta Asset Management said: “We are very proud to retain our title as Equities Manager of the Year for the fifth year in a row. The Irish Pension Awards, now in its fifth year, aims to give recognition to those pension funds and providers who have proved excellence, professionalism and dedication to maintaining high standards of Irish pension provision.
The 2016 judges were drawn from across Ireland’s pension sphere to include pension providers, industry bodies, consultants, financial services and pension representatives from various Irish pension and financial associations. Irish Life businesses were shortlisted for more awards than any other pension provider or investment manager this year, recognising Irish Life’s strong contribution across the Irish pension market.
