Having started the Gender Pension Parity conversation in Ireland in 2019, Irish Life
has published a new Gender Pension Parity Report, which finds a 36% Gender
Pension Gap. This means that women would need to continue working for 8 more
years than men to build up the same size pension pot.
The report analyses the data of over 130,000 Irish life defined contribution plan
members, examining the causes of Gender Pension Disparity and comparing
behaviours between men and women in key areas. The report also proposes
solutions for levelling the playing field and achieving Gender Pension Parity for the
women of Ireland. Everyone has a part to play.
